Earlier this season I had the time of my life with North American freeski champ Susan Medville and her gang of Rippin’ Chix. Each winter, Susan runs steep and deep ski camps for women of all ages all over Western Canada and United States. The idea came about when she and her band of top notch ski coaches recognized many women want to push their limits on the slopes but are often intimidated in the company of their male ski partners.
Having cut my powder ski teeth in a masculine world, I can definitely relate. Each week, our male guests tell me they would love their female friends and spouses to join them for a week of cat skiing. Be it the fear of holding the group back, the unknown, the trees, or the risks associated with backcountry skiing – their lack of confidence sometimes gets the better of them. Most women with some experience in trees and deep powder, are more than capable. Rippin’ Chix offers the ideal opportunity to boost that confidence. Their coaching techniques are able to meet individual needs in a safe, supportive, and stress-free environment. There’s nothing like a snowcat filled with women getting to know one another between runs and giggling when the coaches call out, “Push the bush!” or, “Squeeze the thong!”

I can attest – these 3 days will improve your confidence and give you the skills to take your skiing to the next level.
So ladies, seize the day! Join me in December 2017 for 3 days of skiing you won’t forget.
